Information for 2020-2021 School Year
Library will happen in the classroom this year! I will be visiting classrooms with bins of books from which the students can select one book to take home. Before browsing, students receive hand sanitizer. Only a few students walk around the classroom browsing at a time. Students that aren’t browsing remain at their desks working on crafts, printed activities, and reading.
Please help your child remember to return their library books each week. If a student would like to renew their book, they don’t have to bring it into school. I can renew it in the system without the book in front of me. Once books are returned, they are left untouched for a week before they are checked in and put back into circulation.
We still have many books checked out from March, right before school closed. I am working on getting reminder notices ready to go home. If you find any Forest Avenue library books at home, please send them in with your child. I appreciate your help with this!
I am currently seeing one cohort (either A or B) in school for library class each week. In the middle of November, special subjects will change so that I will be able to see the cohort I missed during the first quarter. The elementary librarians are currently working on a plan to get library books to the cohorts (A/B) that we are not seeing in-person this quarter. As soon as we have more information on that, we will let you know!
Please remember that you can place holds on books at the Hudson Public Library and then pick them up by parking in the lot and calling the library. You can get books owned by the Hudson Public Library or you can request material from other libraries to be sent to Hudson. If you need help getting a library card for your child, please email me. The library’s site is www.hudsonpubliclibrary.com.
